Sermon to mark new church hall at Gravir

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Free Church of Scotland, the Rev James Maciver of Knock FC, preached the sermon the mark the opening of the new church hall at Pairc Free Church in Gravir, Lewis, on Friday evening (June 24).

He took his text from Psalm 84 and the link between the Tabernacle, the Temple and the New Testament Church with God in the midst of his people.

The church hall, which cost £100,000, was built mainly by voluntary labour.

At a buffet in the hall following the service, the oldest member of the congregation, Murdo Maclennan, elder, was called upon to cut the cake which had been specially made for the occasion.
