The recently refurbished and redeveloped Sir E Scott School at Tarbert in Harris is extending the hand of friendship to former pupils, staff and associates of the school.
Friends of Sir E Scott School (FSESS) has been launched with the aim of keeping former pupils, staff and parents in touch with developments in and around the school.
Membership will be free and is open to everyone who has an interest in the Isle of Harris.
The group will also encourage members to re-connect with old friends and make new acquaintances!
It’s hoped that over time FSESS will provide practical support to the school and its pupils, as well as encourage financial assistance. The recent completion of the new school has provided an ideal opportunity to place it at the heart of the community. With state of the art facilities it’s one of the most modern schools in Scotland.
Head teacher Aileen MacSween said: ”We are proud of Sir E Scott, which now has first class facilities and will help us push the boundaries of achievement. We want to share that success with old and new friends. “
Those who join the group will be playing an active role in helping the local community.
