Stag Bakeries are London-bound to launch new Scottish-inspired products

Stag Bakeries is London-bound to launch a range of new products to a host of international buyers.

Stag Bakeries will showcase new savoury crackers, shortbread and cheese straws at the International Food Exhibition which takes place at London’s ExCeL exhibition centre from 22-25 March, 2015.

The trade show, which will welcome buyers from across the UK and overseas, will provide the perfect platform for Stag to launch their new products, which have been all been produced to reflect Stag’’s heritage.

Continuing the policy to develop products with provenance, Stag has partnered with the last traditional smokehouse in the Hebrides, Stornoway Smokehouse, to develop ingredients for their new Oatcakes.

Oats and butter are carefully smoked over oak and beech to create a rich smoky oatcake that is perfect used as a canapé or to serve with cheese. There are two flavours in the range. Smoked Butter Oatcake, which has a distinct, smoky flavour and received 2 Gold Stars at the Great Taste Awards 2014 and the Walnut Oatcake which has a warm, nutty flavour.

Stag will also showcase their all-butter hand-baked cheese straws each made with a carefully selected Scottish speciality cheese:

Highland Dunlop, a carefully selected Scottish speciality cheese produced in the Scottish Highlands. This organic, unpasteurised and traditionally cloth bound cheese melds perfectly with the buttery pastry.

Smoked Dunlop, an organic, unpasteurised cheese that is traditionally smoked over whisky barrel shavings for a delicate smoky taste.

Strathdon Blue is an aged flavoursome and aromatic blue cheese.

Ayrshire Bonnet, a hard pressed goats’ cheese produced on a family-owned creamery in Ayrshire.

“Charlie, Macdonald, owner of Stag Bakeries, said: “The International Food Exhibition in London is a key event for Stag Bakeries. We are committed to growing the Stag brand, and this event will provide a platform to meet with existing customers and also promote our brand to prospective buyers in up and coming channels like food service and export. We are confident that this will be a busy show and provide us with lots of sales leads to help grow the Stag brand” comments. “Stag already has an entire range of products that have exceptional provenance, and we are delighted with the latest new products which are redolent of our Scottish roots.””
