Statement from BT on further Internet disruptions

Problems with Internet services hit the island again today (Wednesday 25th).

A BT spokesperson said: “Broadband service to the Western Isles was lost between 9.30am and 10.30am this morning after a transmission fault at Stornoway’s microwave radio station.

“Service was restored after engineers carried out a hardware change. A related fault yesterday resulted in broadband going down for just over an hour shortly before lunchtime.”

He added: “BT would like to apologise for the inconvenience and frustration this caused.”
