Stòras Uibhist, community landowner of the islands of Benbecula, Eriskay and South Uist will open the doors of their new offices on February 28th.
Extensive upgrading of the former HIE building in Daliburgh has been carried out by local firm UBC, with N D Macleod installing a new IT system.
The building will provide serviced offices for local businesses, and prospective tenants can contact Stòras Uibhist for further information, in addition to permanent offices for Stòras Uibhist. The purchase and upgrade of the building has been supported by HIE and Leader Innse Gall to support the economic regeneration activities of the community company.
Angus MacMillan, Chairman, said, ‘This marks a new stage in the development of these islands. The community company will be more visible and accessible to our Members as we reach a critical stage in the delivery of major projects. These new offices will assist the progress of Lochboisdale Port of Entry and Loch Carnan Community Windfarm which will deliver revenue for future investment and employment for island residents. We are immensely grateful to the Diocese of Argyll and the Islands for providing office accommodation for Stòras Uibhist over these past years, which has allowed so much important work to be carried out to date.’
New address: Stòras Uibhist, Oifis Stòras, Daliburgh, South Uist, HS8 5SS.
