Stornoway Cruise Group seeks Island Ambassadors

Stornoway Cruise Group is planning to establish a volunteer group of Ambassadors to welcome cruise visitors to the Outer Hebrides. The volunteers would be known as Islands Ambassadors and would meet and greet cruise passengers and answer any questions they might have about the islands, with support from Visit Scotland.

The volunteers would ideally be people who are passionate about the island and can tell stories about the history and culture of the Outer Hebrides. The aim of this project is to ensure that the first and last thing that the cruise passenger sees on a visit to Stornoway is a friendly face.

The group is looking for anybody interested in offering visitors from all over the world a warm welcome to the islands and helping to make their time spent in the Hebrides as enjoyable as possible.

Stornoway Cruise Group would like to invite any parties interested in volunteering to attend a meeting on Wednesday 2nd May at 4pm at the Harbour Office, Amity House, to find out more information about the voluntary positions.
