An apprentice butcher from Stornoway has been selected from hundreds of other cadets to attend the Master Cadets Course at the national Cadet Training Centre in Frimley Park.
Cadet Colour Sergeant Robbie Henderson (17) from Stornoway Platoon has been a cadet since he was 12 and is now a qualified instructor teaching a wide range of subjects including map reading, weapon safety and fieldcraft.
Last year he also had to travel south to attend the Cadet Leadership Course at Nesscliff where he received a glowing report.
During his time with the Army Cadet Force Robbie has had many opportunities to develop his leadership, teamwork and self confidence.
Major Norman Macleod said that: “Less than 1% of all cadets become Master cadets and we are extremely proud of him.”
This summer over 350 cadets from all over the Highlands and Islands will attend their annual camp at Strensall in Yorkshire and Robbie will be part of the team training them.
