Lucky shoppers Imelda and Iain Graham enjoyed a shopping trip with a difference at The Co-operative Food’s Macaulay Road store in Stornoway - a five minute trolley dash around the aisles.

The couple, from Lower Bayble, won the trolley dash as first prize in a raffle organised by the store in aid of ENABLE Scotland, The Co-operative Group’s charity of the year.

Iain took on the challenge, and managed to fill two trolleys with items worth £680.

The raffle, with other prizes including a £200 Co-operative Food voucher and a Christmas hamper, raised over £2,000. It was the final event of a year of fundraising by the store, which in total raised over £15,000 for ENABLE Scotland.

Store manager Steven Cooper said: “The trolley dash was a tremendous success and really good fun. It was a great way to round off what has been a busy year of fundraising, and we would also like to thank all our customers who have helped us so generously.”
