Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is holding a number of events to support and encourage local businesses to apply for Comhairle contracts.
Sessions will be held on a number of different topics such as Capital Programme Contracts, Grounds Maintenance and Public Transport. There will also be representatives or information about supplying to Lews Castle College, Hebridean Housing Partnership and NHS Western Isles at the events.
There are four events scheduled:
Stornoway Town Hall, Monday 26th May 2014, 1pm - 3pm
Castlebay Hall, Wednesday 28th May 2014, 2:30pm - 3:15pm
Balivanich Hall, Thursday 29th May 2014, 1pm - 3pm
Tarbert Council offices, Thursday 29th May 2014, 12:45pm - 2pm
As part of the week of Supply to the Council events there will be a panel discussion event to consider how more local businesses can win contracts with the Comhairle.
Panel members have been confirmed as Cllr Angus Campbell, Leader, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Rachel Mackenzie, Area Manager - HIE Innse Gall, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Alex Macleod, Commercial Manager, Breedon Aggregates, Paul Murray, Project and Development Manager, Alex Murray Construction Ltd, David Richardson, Development Manager, Highlands & Islands, Federation of Small Businesses, David Wood, Proprietor, Woodys Express Parcels
With such a breadth of experience and local knowledge on the panel, a lively debate is expected.
The event is open to the public and it takes place at 2pm, Monday, May 26th in Stornoway Town Hall.
