HHP and the Western Isles Forum of Tenants and Residents Association (WIFTRA) will host their annual lunch event for Lewis and Harris tenants next Friday, May 9th, between 12noon and 2pm.

The event this year is at a new venue at Stornoway Town Hall.

Tenants can drop in, have lunch and chat to staff and view the latest range of kitchens, windows and doors and heating systems being offered to tenants.

HHP Chairman, Cllr David Blaney, said: “This is a great opportunity for tenants to see what HHP are doing and to give their views on our services in an informal setting.
“Tenants can come when they can manage and leave when they want. The emphasis is on informality.”

He added: “I would urge people to attend as we are currently working to finalise our plans for improvement works to tenant’s homes for 2015-2019. We want to hear tenant’s views on their properties.”

There will be an activity corner for pre-school children and a free to enter raffle for each household attending with some fantastic prizes donated by HHP, WIFTRA and contractors.

There will also be information available on services provided by a range of other local agencies and an opportunity for people to talk to officers about welfare reform and the bedroom tax and worries they have about these.

Kevin Paterson, Chair of WIFTRA said: “WIFTRA urges all tenants to pop along to this event, have a bite to eat and see the information available.

“It is also an ideal opportunity to meet the staff at HHP and comment on the services provided and tenants’ priorities and concerns going forward.”
