The decision has been made – the Convenor of the new Crofting Commission will be appointed by Environment Minister Stewart Stevenson, instead of being elected by the members of the Commission.

This means the new Commission will have to wait two months for the Ministerial appointment instead of a decision being made at the first meeting of the new commission two weeks ago.
