Uistman’s business to rescue of hurricane-battered New York

A Uistman who runs a demolition company in New York has been extremely busy in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Donald A MacVicar (known as Boris) runs Alba Carting and Demolition who have this week been working to take down a four storey building on 8th Avenue and 14th Street in Manhattan. The facade of the building, which included apartments and also a Grill, collapsed during the superstorm which hit the city on Monday evening.

Mr MacVicar was born and brought up in Carinish, North Uist but has been living the New York for nearly 13 years.

His company have undertaken the clear up of the bulding and are due to take down the interior next week.
