Vegas style night planned for Stornoway

LAS VEGAS is coming to Stornoway for one night only as Cancer Research UK, Isle of Lewis Committee, revealed plans to hold an exciting ‘Viva Las Vegas’ fundraising evening in the town.

The thrill of the Vegas style casino’s will be on offer in the Cabarfeidh Hotel, Stornoway on Saturday, December 4, along with highly skilled croupiers, full sized black jack and roulette tables, chips and casino cash and, all the while, being entertained by Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin classics by the Stornoway Big Band.

Ruth Macaskill from the local committee said: “It’s a challenge for the committee to come up with new fundraising ideas each year and after the success of the annual ‘Ladies Lunch’ we wanted to hold another big event and this time include the men.

“We hope to see gentlemen come along dressed in suit and tie and ladies in cocktail dresses as this will add to the ambience of the evening. We would like to thank all the businesses that have donated generously and supported us with this event, especially The Carlton Lounge and Bar, Era, The Star Inn, Mg Alba and WJ Macdonald Butcher.”

The purpose of the event is to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK. There will be a Wheel of Fortune on the night as well as a Silent Auction and there are big prizes to be won. Tickets are £25 and available from EVENTS
