Work on the site of the new North Uist school got underway this week as did works on the second phase of the project at the new Harris House in Tarbert.
Councillors at this morning’s (Wednesday) meeting of the Policy and Resources Committee were told that progress had been made on two sites and that contractors had also started the redevelopment of Ardseileach in Stornoway.
The North Uist Primary School is due to open next summer.
The works at Harris House are the second phase of works for demolition and landscaping.
Cllr Alasdair Macleod said he had visited the home earlier this week: “The building is magnificent but I was disappointed with the landscaping but I am delighted to see that now happening.”
