The Yes Scotland campaign was in Stornoway last night (7th March) holding a public meeting in the Caberfeidh Hotel and just under 100 people turned out to hear what they had to say.

Dennis Canavan (Chair of Yes Scotland and former Labour MP), Stan Blackley (Deputy Director of Communities) and Angus MacNeil (SNP MP for the Western Isles) took to the stage to discuss why they want Scotland to be independent.

Taking to the audience Mr Canavan said: “I am a fairly recent convert to independence... I have come now to believe in independence based on my experience of life and particularly my experience as a member of the Westminster parliament.”

Tonight the campaign group will be heading for the Lecture Theatre in Sgoil Lionacleit, Benebcula, where Mr Canavan will again take to the stage as the Yes Campaign set their sights on island residents and attempt to build local support for Scottish Independence.
