Yes Na h-Eileanan an Iar, the cross party campaign for a Yes vote across the islands in September’s referendum, have announced details of a series of public question and answer sessions in the run up to September’s referendum on Scottish independence.
Isles MSP, Dr Alasdair Allan, will undertake to answer questions from members of the public in Barvas, Carloway, Breasclete, Garrabost, Balallan and Leverburgh.
This series of public meetings follows on from the town hall event with Na h-Eileanan an Iar MP, Angus MacNeil, Yes Scotland Chief Executive, Blair Jenkins and Dr Allan. Similar events have also happened in Benbecula and Uist with one also planned for Barra.
Commenting on behalf of the Yes campaign, Isles MSP Alasdair Allan said: “The evidence shows that the more people hear Yes Scotland’s arguments – that is that Scotland’s future should be in Scotland’s hands – the more they move from intending to vote no to undecided or from undecided to yes.
“Quite rightly, some people still have questions before the make their mind up as to how they will vote in September, therefore this is an excellent opportunity to come along engage in the debate and find out how a Yes vote can make Scotland a better place for our kids to grow up in.
“I hope as many people as possible will take the opportunity to come along to these events for which registration is not required.”
