DOMHNALL 'Cheocaidh' Smith from Ness took part in and completed the New York Marathon recently and on behalf of the Multiple Sclerosis Society would like to thank all those who sponsored him in the build-up to his first marathon.
"The build-up to the marathon wasn't ideal for me as I was unable to run for six weeks before it due to a foot injury.

"I assumed that this much rest would help me on the day, until I felt pain in the first mile! But I managed to finish it, thanks largely to all the kind donations I received, which stopped me quitting during moments of extreme pain along the route. So thanks to all those who gave generously to such a worthwhile cause."

Domhnall raised over £3,000 through online fundraising and sponsor sheets, with the figure still rising.
