AT PRESENT it is a feverish time for those shooters wishing to qualify for the team to represent the Western Isles at Aland in 2009, with less than 10 weeks to go to complete qualifying rounds on the mainland the pressure is on.
To keep their eye while not shooting in their respective discipline some of the hopefuls have been attending other shoots to help sharpen reflexes and eye and gun co-ordination.

Steve MacKinnon, who is based in Germany with the army, has been shooting DTL across in England while waiting for his new gun to arrive to start his qualifying for Olympic Skeet.

Likewise Donald MacInnes who is hoping to qualify for ABT has also shoot DTL in the Scottish Open with an impressive score of 100 clay - 297 which gave him 1st in A class and 3rd overall.

As for the rest of those wishing to qualify keep plugging away and sending in the scores.
