Club Gniomhachas nan Gaidheal, the Gaelic business club, has donated £2000 to the Western Isles team that will compete at the World Island Games in Aland later this month.
The Chairman of Club Gniomhachas nan Gaidheal, John Morrison, said: "The members of the club are delighted to support the team who will represent the islands on the world stage in Aland. Competing and winning medals in the World Island Games has taken sport in the Western Isles onto a higher level and given many of our young people the first taste of international competition. This has led to improved individual performances and encouraged the team to set even higher targets."

He added: "As a Club made up of Gaelic speaking business people we recognise that many of the qualities that are developed by involvement in high level sport are also essential in building successful companies. We hope that everyone involved with the team enjoys the games in Aland and that the Western Isles economy benefits from their skills in the years to come."
