THE Harris Gun Club's first full sporting shoot of the season was blessed with ideal conditions on Saturday afternoon.
The 50 bird competition kicked of at the new 5.30pm start time with seven disciplines to be mastered by the competitors. It was a story of the Lewis guns more than the Harris guns this time.

Peter Don stormed off to a first half lead missing only two targets in the first three rounds.

The competitors to watch out for were Roddy MacAulay and Murdo MacLeod who were steadily shooting away only missing the occasional target.

By the last round it was only three points that separated the top three, a poor last round from Peter saw the Ballalan duo slip past him to take first and second place.

But Peter got his revenge out-shooting them in a cracking display of doubles shooting for the customary bonus prize.

The next practice night will be on May 20 at 6.30pm. For more information on the gun club contact: harrisgunclub@hotmail.co.uk
