BRUE runner, Jacky Scott, finished the 2008 Flora London Marathon with 34,000 others after 35,044 people started the race last Sunday.
This makes the 2008 race the third biggest of the 28 London Marathons held since it started in 1981.

It was also the centenary year of the marathon distance first ran in 1908.

Jacky, 39, completed the course in 4hours 55minutes.

Despite having been soaked in two down pours during the event Jacky kept her energy levels high by eating jelly babies and taking encouragement from the noisy crowds.

Her enthusiasm for the race was boosted by meeting Olympian James Cracknell who signed autographs and wished her well at a pre race gathering.
