A SMALL team of dedicated upcoming Muay Thai fighters from the local Eilean Siar Muay Thai club recently travelled to compete in an Interclub sparring event in Glasgow's famous 'Griphouse Gym.'
This trip marks a development in the progress and prestige of the club which is run by two times Scottish and British Super light heavyweight Muay Thai champion, Norrie Mackenzie.

Having set up the club three years ago, Norrie's highly structured training format has produced some very talented practitioners of the Thai martial art. Known as the art of 'eight limbs' Muay Thai fighters use their punches, elbows, knees and kicks to strike their opponent.

Norrie explains: "An interclub competition is basically a hard competitive sparring event that engages the most respected clubs from all over Scotland. The event is designed to encourage the confidence and skills of up and coming fighters who would like to compete in a professional fight in the future."
