THE final of the first darts Summer Cup in 20 years took place in the Sea Angling on Wednesday.
The final saw the Star Inn take on the Caley, and the first match saw Ivor come back from 1-0 down to beat Jimmy 2-1.
Don then made it 2-0, beating John Thorton, and then Andy Dowie made it 3-0 beating Calum Ruddy 2-0.
That was follwed by Grah
am beating Babz 2-0 to make it 4-0.
The Caley got one back by winning the fours but the Star won the threes to win the match and the cup 5-1.
After the Portland Open in Inverness in July, the Stornoway boys had another fantastic weekend.
Next up is the Walter Abbot weekend in Elgin which takes place from Friday August 15.
The boys will hope to do as well as last year when Davie Stewart and Andy Dowie got to the semi-finals of the doubles.
The Grand Prix finals night took place last Thursday, with the semi-finals and finals also on that night.
The semis were very close with Andy Dowie beating Jamie Reid 7-6, and Craig Maclean beating Alex Kellar 7-6.
The final was a good match with Andy beating Craig 7-2.
Andy hit two 180s on the night, Craig hit one, while Andy also had a 14-dart finish and Alex K had a 15-dart leg.
This year's Darts League AGM is to take place on Wednesday August 13 in the Sea Angling at 8pm.
Wednesday August 13 is also the closing date for players to pay their money to enter this year's Singles League which starts on Friday August 22.
On Saturday August 9, there will be a three-man team competition in the Sea Angling with a 2pm start.
The event costs £15 to enter and winners will get six places in the darts festival singles, and runners up get three places.
The format is new, with three legs of singles followed by three legs of doubles, and then three legs of three and so on.
Also, before any leg, one of the players can be subbed.
