THE Nicolson sealed their place in the semi-finals of the Caledonian Youth Cup with a convincing 12 try win against a gutsy young Kinross side on Saturday.
They now face Banff on the 19th of April for a place in the final, in what should be their toughest test yet.

They top the pool having won each of their three games.

Aberdeen Grammar take on Dunfermline in the other semi-final, with the final to be played at St Andrews on the Saturday April 26.

Although there was a stiff breeze blowing across the pitch, conditions were ideal for running rugby.

Kinross kicked off and the Nicolson were soon on the attack when Oz and John caused the first of many turnovers in the match, and Fish drove into the Kinross defence with good support from the rest of the pack.

The first try was not long in coming. Kinross were driven off their own scrum and Boydy pounced on the loose ball and took off down the touchline.

He was eventually hauled down by the defence but managed to off-load to Beef, who charged over in the corner.

Rob missed the conversion.

The second try was created straight from the restart when Dunn caught cleanly and ran at the Kinross chasers.

Good drives from Ali and then Hendy took the ball up to half way.

From quick ruck ball Kieran popped a nicely weighted pass to John on the burst, breaking through the first line of defence before sidestepping the fullback and running in to score under the posts.

Rob slotted the conversion.

Kieran then had a couple of nibbles at the try line, the second time he appeared to make it over but the referee was unsighted and therefore couldn't award the score.
