United scoop up in junior football awards

THE Lewis and Harris Junior Football Association held its annual prizegiving in Stornoway Golf Club on Thursday evening, and United featured heavily among the awards.
The town side won every competition it entered in both Under 16 and 18 football, bagging the U-16 league, The SIS Cup, the League Cup, the Under-18 league, the Ladywell Cup, and the Celtic Supporters Club Cup.

Other winners were Back, who won the Manor Dairy Trophy at Under-12 level, and Ness, who were Under-14 winners of the league and Kemnay Cup.

The Under-14 Player of the Year award went to Calum Macphee, of United, while Steven Dunn, also of United scooped the award for both Under-16 and Under-18 level.
