Youngsters in Lewis helped raised cash and awareness for charity this week as part of the island’s Sport Relief challenge.
Nationally, Sport Relief has grown into a huge biennial charity event to raise much needed funds for people both in the UK and abroad.
At the heart of the Sport Relief campaign is the ever-popular Sport Relief Mile which was also at the heart of the local campaign on Saturday.
In Stornoway the Sport Relief mile took participants around the Lews Castle Grounds from a starting point on the Castle Green. This followed an earlier three-mile cycle, also around the Castle Grounds, before the participants rounded off their day’s fundraising fun with a 30-length swim in the swimming pool.
