BACK, who for so long looked certain to retain the Lewis and Harris League title, now need a favour from Stornoway United after the Blues failed to get the job done themselves in Lochs on their last league outing of the season.
The title is now out of their own hands after going down 2-0 in a match in which they would have been crowned champs last night (Monday) had they beaten Lochs in Leurbost.
The defeat hands the title initiative back to rivals Stornoway Athletic who have just one game left to play.
Aths face town rivals United on Wednesday night where a win will see them take the title although a high scoring draw would also see them take the crown.
In a remarkable twist of fate and in a scenario never seen before, 2-2 or higher would favour Aths while a 0-0 draw would hand the title to Back and a 1-1 draw would result in a play-off.
