BACK FC provided a major reaction to their insipid recent performance at Carloway to return to top form and winning ways and land the first silverware of the season.

The ABC Cup is now on display on the Upper Coll sideboard after the Broadbay Blues edged an epic cup final 4-3 and survived a late West Side tidal wave which was only denied extra-time by the width of the woodwork - twice.

Going forward Back were an irresistible attacking force, inspired by the twin striking talents of the ever-green Kevin ‘Bloxy’ Murray and match-winner Fraser Macleod who scored twice or possibly three times depending on who you ask.

But it was far from a one-sided final as the West side played with tempo, gusto and brio and theirs was a display to simultaneously offer encouragement for the rest of the season and heighten the sense of regret for not forcing extra-time in their late siege.
