“There is something about Shawbost in the rain.” was the summary of Will Church as he reflected on one of the greatest moments in the history of shinty in Lewis and Harris so far.
Church had just clinched a three-nil victory over Champions-elect Caberfeidh with a crashing drive into the roof of the net with twelve minutes remaining.
It was a complete performance from the Dubh is Gorm as they advanced to second in the table and pooped Caberfeidh’s title coronation.
With a great goal difference, barring two catastrophic losses and Lewis winning all three remaining matches, Cabers will still be champions, but the Strathpeffer men won’t forget their day trip to the Taobh Siar for a while.
