CalMac on route across Atlantic?

CALAMC are set to cross the Atlantic!

Sadly, it’s not a new ferry route, but the CalMac House Flag which will be flown by Niall Iain MacDonald during his epic NY2SY challenge.

In May 2012, the Gaelic presenter will attempt to row solo from New York to Stornoway – a journey of 3,400miles – to raise funds of charity SAMH: Scottish Association for Mental Health.

And getting behind him are the CalMac staff, ashore and afloat, who it is hoped will pay a donation of £2 each to sign the CalMac House Flag.

Ullapool staff have set the ball in motion by signing the flag – which had lain in a cupboard at the ferry terminal for the last 30 years!

It will then be transferred aboard the MV Isle of Lewis to Stornoway before travelling through the ferry operators various west coast routes and vessels.
