Carloway blew open the doors to the Lewis and Harris football league race with a stunning 5-1 romp over 2011 champs Back FC.

Having lost their season opener and with Back boasting a 100 per cent league record the Way knew they needed a big performance, and probably a win, to reignite their hopes of a first ever league title.

And Kevin Anderson’s men duly delivered a performance of strength, skill, guile and high eneregy to run out well deserved winners on a night the league title race opened up again.

Scorers for Carloway were Seumas Macleod, Kevin Macleod, Scott Macaulay, Kenny Macdonald and Gordon Macdonald with Back’s reply coming from Davie Macleod.
