Connor leads the way in Cross Country

Over 200 runners of all ages gathered in the Lews Castle grounds last Saturday to contest the second round of this season’s Lewis and Harris cross country race series, organised by Stornoway Running and Athletics Club (SRAC).

First off were the Senior men and women joined by under 15 Connor MacLean, full of confidence following the previous week’s national silver medal-winning performance, and keen to take on a new challenge.

Completely undaunted by the more experienced runners, Connor took the win from Murdo Alex MacKenzie, with Duncan MacKellar (under 20) in 3rd place.
