Connor Maclean’s podium place at national event
.
CONNOR Maclean’s blistering race pace has seen him blaze a trail through the isles in recent years but now the teenager has stormed onto a national podium.
The under 15 runner’s incredible performance in the weekend’s Scottish Inter District Cross Country Championships saw him take home a silver gong and with it becoming only the third Stornooway Running and Athletics Club member to win a medal at national level.
To date all the medals have either been silver or bronze from Eilidh MacKenzie 2004 – 2006 and Malcolm Bain back in 1993.
Following the North Cross Country Championships successes in November five
Stornoway Athletes, and two junior Uist athletes, travelled to the event which was a selection event held in Edinburgh’s Hollyrood Park.
