Curtain comes down on Cross Country

The third and final race of the Alex Murray Construction Lewis and Harris Cross Country series was held on Saturday in the Lews Castle grounds in beautiful running conditions.

Over the three race series more than 300 athletes have taken on the cross country route in this popular competition - with nearly 200 completing all three races.

The winners of the third race and overall winners are as follows:

Under 9 boys Cameron Macleod, Tolsta and overall winner;

Under 9 girls Emma Forsyth, Sgoil an Rubha. Amy MacMillan,Tolsta overall winner;

Tong School boys win the team series prize;

Tolsta School girls win the team series prize;

Under 11 boys Stevie Mutch, Back and overall winner;

Under 11 girls Gemma MacRItchie, Lionel and overall winner;

Stornoway Primary boys win the team series prize;

Lionel School girls win the team series prize;

Under 13 boys Finlay Emmott, Nicolson and overall winner;

Under 13 girls Ellie MacLean, Nicolson and overall winner;

Under 15 boys Lewis MacAlpine, Nicolson and overall winner;

Under 15 girls Joanna Gillies, Sir E Scott, Catriona Bain, Nicolson, overall winner;

Under 17 boys Michael MacMillan, Nicolson and overall winner;

Under 17 girls Peigi McKellar, Sir E Scott and overall winner;

Senior men Connor MacLean . Norman Ferguson overall Winner;

Senior womens Ceit Stewart. Jayne Millar overall winner.
