THERE are just a few days left now for budding football managers to get their fantasy football team selections into the Stornoway Gazette ahead of Friday’s deadline.
A bounty of £100 is up for grabs for the top boss at the end of the league campaign who rakes in the most points and uses their £25 million transfer kitty most wisely.
Would you like to combine a brace of Bacachs, with a helping of Hearachs, adding to a layer of Lochies and topped with a sprinkling of Siarachs?
Do you wish you could unleash goal-gluttons Scott Maciver, Fraser Macleod and Scott Graham as an attacking trinity together, plunderers of a whopping 100 goals between them in 2012?
Well now you can, if you manage your budget, as the Stornoway Gazette’s ever-popular local fantasy football league returns again giving island football fans to boss their local footie favourites and possibly line their pockets at the same time with a top prize of £100 up for grabs for top boss at the end of the season.
A healthy transfer kitty of £25million has been supplied for bosses to make their picks from which they must choose a first eleven to take on all comers this season made up of the following: one goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three forwards.
You also MUST select at least one player from EVERY team in the league and only ONE entry is allowed per person.
Each manager must also select a player on your team to be the team’s captain. This player will score double the number of points he would usually have been awarded for that game week. When your team is first selected you must select a player to be designated as such.
Once a player is set as the team’s captain he will continue to be the captain until the end of the season.
To win the cash prize the object is to rack up more points by the end of the season (September) and points are ONLY accrued in Lewis and Harris League matches – cup matches do NOT count towards totals.
See this week’s Stornoway Gazette (available now) for full entry rules and regulations and to see player values and the entry form.
