Twenty three year old David Linden completed the Great Scottish Run 10k at the weekend to raise funds for the Eilean Siar Foodbank.

Completing the race in 56 minutes and 32 seconds, he also beat his personal best time for a 10k and enjoyed it so much he is running in another event this weekend.

He raised £460 for the local foodbank but is still collecting in donations. Delighted with the amount raised he said: “My initial fundraising target was £400 so I’m extremely pleased and incredibly touched by the generosity of those folk who have donated, a vast majority of whom have no connection with the island.”
