There was no-one - not the most rabid Barra FC fan - who will have taken more pleasure from how this herculean match season unfolded than Ronald Mackinnon - known as Raughal A Lac.

The 82-year-old watched with burning pride as team skipper James Davidson wrapped his fingers around the beautiful Uist and Barra league trophy and thrust it into the Castlebay sky ending four long decades of patient waiting.
