The organisers of this summer’s NatWest Island Games in Jersey have published the fixtures for the men’s and women’s football competitions.
And both the Men’s and Women’s squads from the Western Isles have been handed campaign openers against the Isle of Man.
The men kick off their bid for glory against Nick Hurt’s Isle of Man FA side at lunchtime on Sunday, June 28, with the women’s squad lacing up their boots to face Michael Quilliam’s women’s side on the same day.
The second round of fixtures follows on Monday, June 29 when the men square off against hosts Jersey at 6pm with the women also in action on the same day against Gotland with their kick-off half an hour earlier.
The men are back in action on Tuesday, June 30, when they take on Alderney at 6pm and the women round off their group on the following day, July 1, against Gibraltar at 5pm.
If either Eric Macleod’s Men’s squad or Catherine Anne Macleod’s Women’s squad can finish top of their group they will have a semi-final on July 2, with the competition’s medal matches taking place on July 3 at the recently refurbished 3G pitch in Springfield.
