The race for glory in the Lewis and Harris football league went right down to the wire, to the last game of the season and almost to the last kick of a ball.
But while West Side may have snatched the trophy with a final day draw against Lochs that was far from the end of the honours for our top performing players.
To celebrate another campaign of thrills and spills, the Stornoway Gazette is bringing you the Lewis and Harris team of the season – as voted for by the club gaffers themselves.
Each manager was asked to select a team of the season but each were forbidden from selecting their own players.
The results make fascinating reading with five clubs represented in the final 11. The spine of the elite squad comes, unsurprisingly, from league champs West Side, runners-up Lochs and third placed Carloway, but both Stornoway United and Ness are represented too.
Pick up a copy of this week’s Gazette to see the final eleven who made the Manager’s own pics for Team of the Season.
