Jacky Scott from Brue, Isle of Lewis was one of several island runners who completed the London Marathon on April 17th.

Running to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer this was Jacky’s 2nd London Marathon.

“The crowds always amaze me,” says Jacky. “The amount of people lining the streets was incredible, people calling out your name and I even got a hug at one point when the going got tough!”

Jacky has raised money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer since 2006 when her Mum died of the disease. Having raised over £2,500 from this year’s marathon run this takes Jacky’s cumulative total for Breakthrough to over £11,200.

“I was hoping to get to £10,000 so I’m totally delighted,” she says. “I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has so kindly sponsored me for this run and my other runs over the years.

“This money will help Breakthrough to continue their vital research to help save lives, change futures and remove the fear of breast cancer.”
