BBC ALBA will screen the best from this year’s Island Games from Jersey as the Western Isles scooped a number of medals making it their most successful Island Games to date.
The highlights programme, being screen on August 2nd from 7.15pm, will cover the athletes competing in their discipline as the team triumphed winning seven gold, six silver and six bronze medals.
Allan Macleod reflects on a special week for the team of over 80 athletes, particularly for the MacPhee sisters who stole the show, picking up the team’s first Gold medal in the mountain bike cross-country.
In the swimming pool Kara Hanlon and Kathryn Offer put memories of Bermuda 2013 behind them grasping a gold medal each and Donald Macleod held on to his 800m athletics crown.
The half hour programme will allow viewers the chance to enjoy the great spirit, hard work and determination that resulted in an array of personal bests for the Western Isles team in Jersey.
