It’s all go this Saturday and before enjoying the fun of the Carnival, why not pop into Stornoway Rugby Club’s RugbyForce Day 2014.
The Royal Bank of Scotland RugbyForce 2014 nationwide programme provides the opportunity for local clubs to throw open their doors, show the local community what they’ve got to offer, and invite all to come and have a go.
Scotland all-time great Chris Paterson commented: “Royal Bank RugbyForce is a fantastic way for clubs to open themselves up to new people and new possibilities.
“There are so many activities competing for people’s time and money these days, and clubs are having to work harder than ever to underline that they’ve really got something for everyone.
“That might be people who want to play or coach the game, but it could just as easily be young families looking for somewhere to spend their weekend, or local groups who need a venue to host meetings and events.
“Royal Bank RugbyForce is about getting the community together, having fun and giving people a reason to keep coming back again and again over the course of the season.”
Some star-quality will be added to the Stornoway Rugby Club’s RugbyForce Day as the Lewis team welcome international players Johnny Gray and Alex Dunbar who will visit this weekend.
Taking place from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, August 9th, at Bayhead Pitch (behind Stornoway Golf Club), as well as the chance to meet Johnny or Alex, there’s also lots of fun to have with various rugby activities, touch rugby, a BBQ to enjoy and also some Club merchandise will be on sale.
And all ages are welcome to come along and enjoy!
Stornoway Rugby Club is one of nearly 150 Scottish clubs to sign up for RugbyForce 2014, and each received £250 towards RugbyForce event funds. And by signing up, the island Club can take advantage of Royal Bank Locker Room, a programme that gives access to complimentary kit and equipment.
