ANOTHER season to remember for the junior football stars of the Lewis and Harris football scene has been concluded with the presentation of the annual player of the year awards.

Two of the three top prizes were shared, such was the level of competition among the clubs at junior level.

The gongs for under 14 level went to United’s Dennis Macdonald and Ally Maciver from Point. Moving up to under 16 level and the winner was Ness’ Micheil Smith.

At under 18 level the next batch of senior stars, and many who are already strutting their stuff at that level, produced a tie for the top award. This means Aths’ Elliot Ruddall and Gordon Campbell from Western Thistle shared the prestige of being pick of the bunch at under 18 level.
