On the 15th of March Laxdale Primary P1/2 visited the Ionad Spòrs Leòdhais to try their hands at a range of Highland Games activities.

The event was supported by Active Schools and the Sport and Health Team, featured a total of 20 primary 1 pupils participate in a range of events from long jump to tossing the Caber.

Not only did the children bring all their enthusiasm, they were all dressed for the occasion, wearing tartan kilts, cumber bands and sashes.

Claire Scott, Active Schools Coordinator would like to thank all those that participated in the event, volunteers, and teachers and Steven Munro, Community Sports Development Officer for his support in delivering the session. Laxdale Primary and Active Schools would also like to thank Colin Cameron for sharing the wonderful photos he took of the event.

“The children really enjoyed the games that they played, and some even got to try sports they had never played before” said Ms MacDonald, P1/2 Teacher.
