The first ever pool of players for the Lewis and Harris Football Club will be announced in next week’s Stornoway Gazette ahead of their forthcoming maiden campaign in the North Caledonian Cup.
It will be the first in a series of exciting announcements in what is the biggest step ever taken by island football.
Next Saturday (September 14th) will see the brand new strips and a commemorative tournament programme launched at a special evening in the Caladh Inn, Stornoway where sponsors will get the chance to meet the players.
Following on from the launch night for the new kits, which were sponsored by Duncan Mackay and Sons, the newly formed Lewis and Harris Football Club will hold a pair of training sessions and also a possible friendly match against a domestic club side as a final warm up ahead of their cup quarter-final match against Alness on October 5.
Alness will prove difficult opponents for Lewis and Harris as they recently enjoyed an away win over current North Caledonian league champions Thurso.
But confidence is high amongst the players and staff of Lewis and Harris who are eagerly anticipating making the trip to Dalmore Park.
