Todd Morrison became the latest member of Stornoway Rugby Club to represent the club as a mascot at a Scotland rugby international match during the recent Autumn International Series.
Todd travelled down to Edinburgh with his family to be a mascot at the Scotland versus Argentina match at BT Murrayfield. He had a fantastic day and was a credit to his family, school and the club. During the day he met the Scotland players, and stood in front of the Scotland squad during the National Anthems wearing his Scotland rugby kit.
Todd has attended the after school rugby sessions run by Stornoway Rugby Club Coach, Callum “Shen” Campbell, at Laxdale Primary School for the past two years and hopes to follow a number of ex Laxdale pupils into the School of Rugby when he moves up to the Nicolson Institute next summer.
Todd said: “I had a really good time, lots of players signed my rugby ball and top. When I was on the pitch it was the best moment of my life!”
Iain GG Campbell, SYRFC Coach Coordinator, added: “We know this is always an amazing experience for the boys who get this opportunity, we’re grateful to Scottish Rugby for the offer of a place. I know Todd and his family really enjoyed their day at BT Murrayfield.
“We look forward to seeing Todd in a Stornoway strip one day.”
Thanks are due to Stornoway Rugby, Laxdale Primary School Parent Council and Scottish Rugby for making this trip possible.
