Kerry Macphee DNF’d (did not finish) on her second World Cup adventure but she insists she returns from Germany excited about embarking on the next stage of her mountain biking adventure.
The South Uist athlete was in South Germany to compete in stage two of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup and she admits each trip furnishes her with new lessons and tips on how to improve.
She said: “Weirdly I feel OK with not finishing because I know why, and I worked really hard on my mindset to ensure the last two weeks were about experience and progress, not outcome.
“Instead of looking back and thinking ‘I wish I’d done x, y and z,’ I’m actually thinking woo, I’ll now be better for next time, come at me World Cup Number 3!”
