The Summer Open Darts weekend took place in the Sea Angling, Stornoway last Friday and Saturday, and saw an epic performance for Murdo who at only 18 years old won all the four competitions.
Murdo, is the son of Andy Dowie and grandson of the late Allan Dowie, who would have been proud of his performance.
The first competition was the Blind Draw Threes which saw Craig Maclean, Murdo and Don beat Calum Ruddy, Alex M and John Norman in the final.
The Open Doubles was next and Andy and Murdo started off their semi-final with an 11 dart leg (100, 121, 180, 100 checkout) as they beat Norrie and Craig 6-1.
Don and Alex K beat Calum Martin and Mark in the other semi clash.
The final saw father and son, Andy and Murdo romp to a 7-1 win over Don and Alex K.
On the Saturday the Blind Draw Doubles started the day and Craig won his second title of the weekend winning with Murdo, who beat Haggis and Calum Ruddy in the final.
The last competition of the weekend was the Open Singles and there were some good games on the day.
The first semi saw Murdo get the better of his dad Andy 7-5 to get to final, where he played Willie Reid, who beat Norrie 7-6 in the other semi.
The final saw Murdo take control and win 7-2 to make it four wins in four competition - a good weekend’s work!
This weekend sees the Portland Open in Inverness and a few Island players will be travelling going over.
This year’s Darts League AGM will take place in Sea Angling on Wednesday 15th August, so get your teams ready.
