The Nicolson Institute travelled to Dingwall Football Academy on Monday the 16th of May to play Inverness Royal Academy in the North of Scotland Under 14’s Schools Cup.

The Nicolson boys started well despite the strong wind against them. Both teams had a number of opportunities to score but failed to take advantage.

Around 20 minutes into the game the Nicolson made a break through with Alistair ‘Wally’ Maciver slotting home a beautiful goal. Alistair was once again involved in the next goal playing a lovely ball through for Andrew ‘Shakes’ Macaulay to finish in style.

This allowed the boys to take a lead into the 2nd half. The Nicolson once again started strong with a number of darting runs through the defense for both Ross Alison and Andrew ‘Shakes’ Macaulay, this eventually resulted in the 3rd and final goal from Ross Allison, a long range effort which was just to strong for the keeper.

The last 10minutes were tense with IRA applying pressure but the Nicolson held on the claim a well deserved 3-0 victory to become the North of Scotland Under 14’s Champions.
