Partick Thistle v Raith Rovers will this weekend continue BBC ALBA’s exclusive live coverage of the Ramsdens Challenge Cup.
Coverage of the match from Firhill Stadium in Glasgow will start today (Sunday) at 4pm, with kick-off at 4.05pm. Commentary comes from Derek MacKay and Alex O’Henley and our presenter Calum Macaulay will be joined for trackside analysis by one-time Raith player and former Hearts, Kilmarnock and Hibs assistant manager Billy Brown.
This fixture will see two of the leading sides in the First Division vie a place in the semi-final stage.
Partick’s route to round three has seen the Jags record two derby victories, with a 1-0 win over Clyde at Broadwood followed by an extraordinary 5-4 triumph over Queen’s Park at Hampden.
This form has also been carried into their league campaign, with four wins from four giving the Maryhill side top spot in Division One.
Thistle will face a Raith side who are sitting fourth in the table and who are also enjoying a good run of results, with a 4-2 away win against Wick Academy in round one followed by a second round 5-2 victory at home to Montrose.
As well as the live action on the pitch, we have a number of half-time features including a visit to Thistle for an extended interview with Jackie McNamara and Simon Donnelly, who speak about their long working relationship and friendship, what they’ve learned about each other in their new roles at the club, and their aspirations for the club’s future.
Over at Raith Rovers, Alex O’Henley goes to the club to meet with new manager Grant Murray to discuss his role, his ambitions, and the squad’s hopes for the season ahead.
